Future Authoring Letter

Letter Date: 1st October 2023

Hey James,

Let me just start by saying thankyou for what you’ve done, because of you I’m now able too…
Not needing to worry about money (conciously or unconciously). Being able to fully enjoy every moment with our kids and one another, without anxiety about what the future may/may not hold for us (financially & otherwise).

Ultimate flexibility – doing the things that bring us meanging, joy and happiness – with a continued focus on our family, health & allowing us to really choose what we do with our time.

Really back ourselves – confidently make big and small decisions together knowing we are enjoying the now with the ability to retire before we expected.
The wisdom and discipline you showed has helped me to achieve…
– regular family holidays, big adventures seeing Australia & the world
– Buy a caravan (+car to tow it)
– live exactly where we want (walk to beach)
– design & build our own house (new or additions/reno)
– careers that fully support/allow our goals to occur without compromise
– ability to support for our kids/future grandkids through life
– retire early with youth/health on our side.
– live a great life into old age
Because of what you learned and how I gained, I’ve been able to increase my impact. Here’s just some of what you’ve made possible:
– regular family holidays, big adventures seeing Australia & the world
– Buy a caravan (+car to tow it)
– live exactly where we want (walk to beach)
– design & build our own house (new or additions/reno)
– careers that fully support/allow our goals to occur without compromise
– ability to support for our kids/future grandkids through life
– retire early with youth/health on our side.
– live a great life into old age

In case you were wondering if it’s all worth it, let me assure you that…

It is.

We feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

We dont ask the question of “what if we had done…”

Things we had never fully envisioned have materialised.
I know you worked hard and made sacrifices to make the lifestyle I now live possible, so let me walk you through a typical day so that you know what’s head of you…
**In 15-20yrs**

Today we woke up with the sunrise in a place that we love in a home created by us, its sunny & warm.

The sound of waves are within earshot. Its 3ft and cleaaan haha
Chloe gets a tea in bed to start the day.

We’re not in a mad hurry – there’s no pressure – but we’re busting to get into a full day packed with whatever activities we choose. We’re flexible, there’s options.

After enjoying an early morning at the beach, today might lead to any / all:

– time with each other;

– kids; sharing in their interests
eg. involved in local sport, or whatever their passion may be

– independant hobbies / shared hobbies
eg surfing, tinkering in workshop, gardening, planning a trip, upcycling projects, hit of tennis, see some live music,

– knock off drinks on the deck to debrief the day, share a meal and stories with mates/family, laughter
whether a simple bbq or attempting to recreate something more exotic we had on one of our travels

Go to bed knowing we jammed the day full, knackered, but excited about tomorrow.
Lastly, I need you to know that…
Grateful. Proud.
