Future Authoring Letter

Letter Date: 21st February 2024

Hey Jamie,

Let me just start by saying thankyou for what you’ve done, because of you I’m now able too…
The freedom I have allows me to say ‘no’ to the work I don’t want to take on. This has saved me from teaching excess students (or teaching some I just don’t want to!) and not play gigs just for income. I have been able to choose the work I want that suits me, and my family.

I have the freedom to be with my children whenever I want (Harrison & future child – who you haven’t met yet). I’m available to pick-up and drop-off kids at school most days and there is no problem being involved with their out-of-hours activities. I have not missed any of their significant events.

I don’t need to purely rely on teaching individual lessons because my online content has provided income on the side. This has allowed me to spend more time at home with family and continue my development in the comfort of my home.

By promoting my own product, I have built a greater reputation within the industry, and don’t need to worry about having enough work. By developing my own content and receiving some passive income through this avenue, I have extra time to develop my own skills which is evident in the content I’m producing.

Some of the luxuries of this life involve taking time away from work as I please. I’m able to spend more time with family/friends and travel to other parts of the world on my bucket list. I have recently become endorsed by a company who is excited about the content I’m producing. We are working closely together to benefit each other’s businesses. This is a bonus to the accomplishments I’ve achieved.
The wisdom and discipline you showed has helped me to achieve…
Since working through my goals and following advice received from the mentorship, I’ve been able to fund the house Laura and I want to live in. This involves being in a suitable and enjoyable location for our family. We’ve been able to welcome child #2 to our family and fund several interstate and overseas adventures.

My online content has created interest within the community which has allowed me to justify investing money into equipment and professional development to improve my content.
Because of what you learned and how I gained, I’ve been able to increase my impact. Here’s just some of what you’ve made possible:

In case you were wondering if it’s all worth it, let me assure you that…

You are very satisfied with the changes you’ve made in your life. It has certainly been worth the time and effort. Time is no longer an issue to pursue the activities you’re interested in. You can focus more on your family and friends, music and exercise without feeling restricted with time.

These changes have also changed life at home with Laura and my children. Home is a relaxed and enjoyable environment where everyone is striving to achieve their goals. Laura and I have time to regularly be with our children and raise them to live a happy and fulfilling life. This is the most important part of your life.

Thank you for spending time to focus on yourself and prioritise your goals. By working consistently, you have demonstrated you’re more capable than what you originally believed. You now have more confidence to distribute more content to the world, you feel a greater sense of accomplishment on a day-to-day basis, and you feel as though you’ve given something to the community.
I know you worked hard and made sacrifices to make the lifestyle I now live possible, so let me walk you through a typical day so that you know what’s head of you…
This is a glimpse of my future routine when Harrison and potentially another child begin primary school. Up to this point, there are aspects of this life which gradually begin to happen overtime. This is what I plan on an average day, but things can change and I’m able to adjust with little stress.

6:00am: Wake up. Prepare the kid’s food and school bags for the day. Enjoy a coffee in the morning.
6:45am: Ride on Zwift. I have the energy and motivation to go hard and aim for steady progression over time. Some days I swap the ride for a run or weight session.
7:30am: Shower, then prepare kids for school.
8:30am: Take kids to school.
9:30am – 12:30pm: Content Creating:
– Goal setting
– Practising
– Recording content
12:30pm: Lunch – a healthy meal while watching/listening to inspiring online content.
1:15pm: Housework – tidying/cleaning/washing/gardening
2:30pm: Attend to emails and other life administration.
3:15pm: Leave home to collect kids from school.
4:00pm: Arrive home – before dinner we all spend time together, either outside, playing music or completing homework.
5:30pm: Prepare for dinner.
6:00pm: Eat as a family at the table – then clean up. This is an important part of the day where we can discuss their schooling, teach them strong values, which will help them throughout life.
7:00pm: Kids play time – I might spend this time reading a book, playing guitar, catching up on other jobs, or playing with the kids!
7:30pm: Help kids prepare for bed (shower / teeth / pyjamas)
8:00pm: Kids reading time.
8:30pm: Kids go to bed (Laura and I can relax for the night – watch some tv)
9:30pm: Prepare for bed
10:00pm: Bedtime
Lastly, I need you to know that…
Now that I have achieved some of my significant goals, I feel very proud, impressed, and admire the previous version of myself for putting in the effort to make these life changes. I’ve been wanting to improve many areas of my life for such a long time, and now I’ve finally made it happen. You have setup many areas of your life which will only get better from here. There were many areas of your life you worried about, but there is no need for this anymore.

My relationships with everyone around me have improved and my career is more balanced due to the online content I’ve created. My exercise is regular and I’m able to see gradual improvements on the bike. I’ve travelled to many other cities around Australia, and other countries. My importantly, I have a great amount of time to be with my family. This is what I define as a good life, and I don’t need anything more than this.
